1. The many types of holograms

Looking Glass Studio allows you to import multiple types of holographic media. These include:

• Portrait Mode Photos
• RGB-D Photos/Videos
• Quilt Images/Videos
• Light Field Photosets
• Chroma Depth

To import your hologram, you can drag & drop the file(s) directly into Looking Glass Studio, then select the type of hologram.

Make sure to choose the format for your Hologram Properly, if you import a quilt as an RGB-D or vice versa you'll get a very strange looking hologram!

As of Looking Glass Studio 1.1 you can import multiple files at the same time! Just make sure you have them properly named so you don't lose track of the file types!

Note: Light Field Photo sets are full folders of image sets, to import a light field photo set you'll need to select the first photo in the set and choose the "light field photoset" option. Looking Glass Studio will handle the rest!

2. Editing your playlist

Once you've imported a few files into Looking Glass Studio you'll be able to reorder your playlist. The playlist determines how long each hologram will play for in Stand Alone Mode.

Right click the hologram you just imported into your Playlist, to

• Duplicate
• Edit Length
• Delete
• Rename
• Export
• You can also find these options by going to Edit in the Looking Glass Studio's window bar.

3. Hologram Properties

Each type of Holographic media went through above has different properties you can edit! We'll go through each file type here.

Quilts

Selecting a quilt will make the following properties available to you:

• Columns
• Rows
• Aspect Ratio

These numbers are specific to each type of quilt, you need to take into account how many rows and columns your quilts have, as well as the aspect ratio it was captured in.

To Zoom and Pan on your quilt you can move your mouse cursor over to the looking glass. Scroll to Zoom, and use Left Click to Pan.

Lightfield Photosets

Selecting a Light Field will make the property "focus" available to you. This allows you to change the area of the image that's the clearest and allows you to better frame and position your content. You can also reverse the direction of the photoset if needed!

iPhone/Android Depth Photos & RGB-D Content

Importing an iPhone or android depth photo to your playlist not only automatically displays it in the Looking Glass Portrait, but it also allows you to make live changes to the following properties:

• Depthiness
• Focus

Depthiness Allows you to adjust how 3D the photo is.

Focus allows you to adjust where the photo sits in the focal plane of the display.

RGBD image / video also has "Depth Position" "Chroma Depth" and "Depth Inversion" in its properties (unlike iPhone).

Depth Position - allows you to tell Looking Glass Studio where the depth map sits in relation to the RGBD image (in case it is not on the right side, which is the default setting)

Chroma depth - allows you to import hue encoded depth map data.

Depth Inversion - allows you to switch the depth values so that black denotes the closest point of the image, and white denotes the furthest point of the image. At its default, it is white as the closest, and black as the furthest.

You can also frame and crop your holograms with the following controls:

• Mouse wheel / two finger scroll— zoom in and out
• Mouse click + drag— pan around image
• Once you've finished making your adjustments those changes will stay until you choose to edit them again.

4. Exporting Holograms

Exporting Holograms allows you to share holograms with all the specific settings saved, including the zoom position, panning position, depthiness, focus and more! You can export a hologram from Looking Glass Studio by right clicking it and choosing "export". This will prompt you to choose a file location, from there you just have to pick a file name and click ok!

5. Syncing your Playlist

Now that you've created a playlist with your iPhone photos, click on the Sync Playlist button. You're able to save the holograms to your device for Standalone Mode, to bring around and show off to your friends and family. You can only sync one Playlist at a time (for now!)

Note that syncing your playlist will overwrite the existing playlist on the portrait. This means that any content that isn't in your Looking Glass Studio playlist will no longer show up in Stand Alone Mode. If you'd like to include the demo reel holograms, you can grab them from here and import them onto your portrait.

6. Stand Alone Mode

To view your holographic playlist, you created in Looking Glass Studio, switch your Looking Glass Portrait to Stand Alone Mode. You can have the Looking Glass Portrait connected to either your wall adapter or to your PC/Mac.

Switch the Portrait into Standalone Mode by pressing the ON/OFF button. Review the Looking Glass Portrait Getting Started Guide for a more detailed refresher.
